Experience
No matter what subject I am teaching, I relate the concepts from it to my students' everyday lives, which allows them to grasp the concepts more easily. I strive to teach in a fun and effective way. Keeping students engaged in their learning is a key to success. I use my knowledge and motivational personality to help propel my students toward reaching their goals. I have a minor in German from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and I have studied German since 2004. Because of my experience and background, I can tutor German 1-4, conversational German, and AP German Language and Culture. I also tutor American history, European history, psychology, social studies, social sciences, and languages. Most of my experience so far has been tutoring undergraduates, but I am available to tutor high school students and adults. To keep my German skills fresh, I read books in German, including Faust by Goethe three times, along with several others. I also watch German television shows and movies. Once a student has a solid understanding of the language, German books and entertainment can be great tools to use to continue to exercise their knowledge. My interests outside of German, studying, and teaching include visiting art museums, listening to music, painting, and drawing.
