Experience
I went to Missouri State University to earn my bachelor's degree in cell and molecular biology. I also earned minors in business and chemistry. I'm now attending the University Missouri, Kansas City, where I study dentistry. My tutoring experience began as an undergraduate, where I assisted students with science subjects in the campus tutoring center. Most of these students needed help with general chemistry, but I also had the opportunity to assist students in subjects like organic chemistry, genetics, biology, and anatomy and physiology. I was also a member of the fraternity, and I often assisted students in their coursework, which involved a lot of editing for grammar and sentence structure. In addition, I've assisted students in math and test preparation for the GRE. My tutoring specialties include anatomy and physiology and math. These areas require a lot of logic and critical thinking, and I believe that these are skills that can be utilized in any course. I enjoy helping students develop the skills because they need for independent learning and long-term success for my students. When I work with a new student, I initially assess what they know and where they need help. I provide a lot of support and encouragement to help students fill gaps in their understanding. I then build from there to help students develop full comprehension of the subject. When I have spare time, I enjoy sports and traveling.
