I have tutored students at both the high school and college level for several years in the subjects of Writing, History, and English Literature. My teaching style focuses on making connections, not only between today and the history of things that have gone before, but also between writing and reading and relevant life skills that help students to make sense of the world and to become successful in it.I graduated from Kansas State University with a bachelor's degree in History and then attended the University of Kansas City Law School for my doctorate degree. Since then, I have had a passion for aiding students who want to go to law school with the study needed to succeed on their LSAT. It is my belief that these tests, like other standardized exams, cause some students to become fearful. Yet, when they are totally prepared and familiar with the key techniques needed to be successful, that fear is replaced with a belief in themselves that helps them reach their goals.In my free time, I enjoy creating things with my hands, most specifically at a local woodshop, where I usually have a project in the works. Other pastimes I enjoy include reading and fishing.
