Experience
My previous tutoring experience comes from personal requests from fellow students. I want to tutor for the same reason that I want to teach: I want to try to help individuals learn, especially in a difficult area like math. I want to tutor mathematics because it was a hard subject to learn in school. Frankly, it was scary and I faced anxiety on important testing days that played into my work. I know what it is like to be scared of a subject and to not understand it. I've made every mistake that a fellow can make while learning, and have had to learn every way to avoid those mistakes and pitfalls. I want to tutor because I can make scary subjects seem not quite so scary because I have learned how to deal with them and can teach accordingly. So far, I have taken College Algebra, Trigonometry, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, Calculus I, Calculus II, Mathematical Modeling, and Probability and Statistics, all of which I received high grades at the end of each course. This semester I will also be taking Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, and Intro to Abstract Mathematics.
