Experience
I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees in Computer Information Systems with a focus on Project Management from DeVry University, where I also served as a professor, teaching Computer Science courses. At present, I am working as a software developer. I am comfortable teaching and tutoring students in a variety of different computer science courses, including C++, JavaScript, C#, JQuery, VBScript, ASP.NET, web design and development, software engineering, IB Computer Science HL and SL, IB Information Technology in a Global Society HL and SL, and many others. I enjoy working with students on an individual basis, in small groups, online, and in classroom settings. As a tutor, I enjoy the exchange of ideas that happens during sessions. I like to discover my students' optimal learning methods, and I then fine-tune my approach to suit the student. I expect my students to work hard, but encourage them to have fun with the process at the same time. In my experience, the best part of tutoring is when my students arrive at their own "Eureka!" moment, where they see all their hard work and efforts pay off. In my spare time, I enjoy collecting geeky items and spending time with my daughter.
