Private tutor in Kansas City, MO
Education
Master of Music (Piano) at University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music (expected completion spring 2016) Bachelor of Arts (Music and English), magna cum laude, at Luther College
Experience
As a current student, I love to learn and to share what I know by teaching others. I am a pianist with experiences in performing as a soloist and accompanist, in collaborating with singers and instrumentalists, and in teaching other musicians. My music is informed by an interest in the fields of music history and music theory. I currently hold a GTA position in Opera Accompanying at the UMKC Conservatory, where I work with students as a rehearsal pianist for the opera production every semester and as an accompanist for weekly opera workshop class. During my undergraduate studies at Luther College, a liberal arts school in Decorah, Iowa, I took courses across diverse fields of study, and developed a real love for learning. In addition to music, I completed a major in English, with experiences in writing, reading, and researching. I am a member of the honor societies Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Kappa Lambda. Prior to college, I took AP courses in Calculus, Physics, and English, and graduated at the top of my high school class.

Hobbies
I love to learn new music, to collaborate as an accompanist, to listen to others play, and to teach. The best part of music is being able to share it with others. I enjoy reading books and news articles - my favorite source for news is NPR. I love cooking and baking. My specialty is making homemade breads from scratch. On summer days, you can often find me out riding bike or going on a walk.
