Before my first tutoring session, I had no idea how much of an impact it would have on the rest of my life. Tutoring has proved to be both a source of enjoyment and pride in my life. In the past, I studied at the University of Central Missouri, but my tutoring life began in high school. As an incentive to attract more peer tutors, my high school offered to pay for two years of community college for anyone who had completed 50 or more hours as a peer tutor. After completing 50 hours of service, I realized the experience of helping others was a much more valuable reward than the two years of tuition. Since then, tutoring has been a huge part of my life. I can tutor students in a variety of math, English, and science subjects. I am also extremely familiar with helping students prepare for various tests and examinations, and I have learned some extremely useful study techniques during my time both as a tutor and as a student. I know what it's like to be frustrated after not being able to understand a difficult concept, so I'm able to put myself in my student's shoes, a skill that has proven incredibly useful during my years as a tutor.
