Experience
I am a statistics and research methods tutor because I believe statistics should be taught as a language, not a math course. I believe a solid foundation of statistical understanding is useful in any career field. I truly care about a student's learning, not simply getting a good grade. Expertise: Inferential Statistics Descriptive Statistics Frequency Distributions Regression Analysis t-tests ANOVA Hypothesis Testing Confidence Intervals Standard Scores Normal Distribution Power Analysis Variance and Central Tendency Research Methods IRB Proposals APA Style My specialty is psychological statistics and research methods, but I have experience tutoring students in many types of non-calculus based statistics courses. I have presented at several conferences, and have published articles in Assessment Update and the Journal of College Student Development.

Hobbies
Philosophy: I am an instructor who truly cares about conceptual understanding of statistical concepts and techniques, and how they are applicable in "real life". My teaching style is using relevant examples and metaphor to demonstrate concepts and aid with understanding. Our first session is free, and serves as a "meet and greet", where we will determine your instruction needs and get to know each other better. If you decide it will not be a good match, then there is no cost to you! Hobbies: In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband, playing with my dog and quilting.
