Melissa W.
Private tutor in Kansas City, MO
Education
I am currently a sophomore at University of Missouri—Kansas City. I am pursuing an English Language & Rhetoric B.A. and am considering a minor, perhaps in the Spanish language. My current GPA is 3.74 and I plan to graduate in 2018.
Experience
I have always loved writing, and in high school would often proofread my classmates' essays. In college I have been a Supplemental Instructor for a writing and public speaking course, and am currently a university writing consultant. So far in university I have passed two writing/public speaking courses with A's on all assignments, and earn similar grades on writing assignments for classes outside my major. I have experience tutoring high school students, young adults, and older writers. Although I have not tutored younger children before, I do have experience with teaching children from the ages of 2 to 10 in various ministries and have a good understanding of the various learning stages. I love helping people learn things, and writing is something I am very passionate about. So, naturally, I am eager to help others hone in their writing skills. I believe that everyone has the ability to succeed at writing with the right amount of encouragement, determination, and hard work.
