Education

Degree Conferred Dec. 2015- Liberal Arts Major and a Bachelor's in English Language and Literature from University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC). My accumulative GPA is 3.6. I am going to continue my education and get my Master's Degree in English. I have not yet decided if I will get a MA in English Language and Literature, MFA in Creative Writing, or a MAT in Secondary English Education. I may do a combination of two if I still cannot decide soon.

Experience

I have tutored first grade through 12th grade students in reading and writing. I worked with elementary school aged students for about 6 years, helping them with English homework. While helping, I realized that I was better at instructing them in reading and writing assignments. I have volunteered my time to tutor middle and high school students in reading and writing, which is why I may decide to teach one day. At UMKC, I have taken about 20 English courses that focused on writing and/or literature, which advanced my understanding of all genres of literature and my writing skills.

Hobbies

I enjoy reading and writing. I am one to write down everything. My home is full of sticky notes and spiral notebooks where I write anything from grocery lists to book ideas. I am currently in the process of writing my first book for publication. Also, I play the violin and piano, which were my first loves. Within the next couple of months, I want to learn how to crochet. I see a big blanket in the making.
