Experience
To me, it is important for a tutor to enjoy the material they are teaching. This is what I offer to any student that comes under my guidance. For me, it is rewarding to see students succeed. My tutoring style involves being available for students when guidance is needed, but standing back and allowing them to work on their own. It is important for students to build independent studying skills in order to become lifelong learners. I strive to be patient and thorough with any subject I am teaching. I also enjoy using information students already know in order to help them understand new concepts. My specialties lie in algebra, chemistry, and physics. I am also available to tutor in SAT prep, ACT prep, music, science, and piano. While enrolled in college, I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to be a teaching assistant. In this position, I assisted students with homework, offered help in test preparation, and taught physics lessons.I have attended both Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Washington-Seattle. I currently reside in Kansas City, Missouri. Outside of teaching, I enjoy learning more about history and mythology. I am also an avid piano player. My favorite composers are Chopin, Rachmaninov, and Grieg.
